Members of the public can stop at the office for assistance with completing zoning permit applications or to discuss building proposals, etc. However, we may not always be able to accommodate drop-ins and respectfully request that you set up an appointment prior to visiting the office to ensure staff is available to assist you. Appointments can be made by calling 507-725-5800.

The Planning and Zoning Office oversees all phases of planning and zoning activities in the townships including the development, coordination and enforcement of the Houston County Zoning Ordinance, which includes floodplain and shoreland rules and regulations; septic systems and feedlot regulations.
